Can I be a Christian and not a Republican?

Yes, it true, I am a Christian and I love the Lord and I believe in Christ as my Lord and Savior, but I am not a Republican, and I don't think I can ever be one. I feel so alone.

Culture

I am considering pulling my daughter out of public school. I went round and round about this when she first started school, and she had been home with me for 4 years. I think I have just finally reached a threshold of what I can compromise. I knew 3 years ago, that she would be exposed to contemporary culture in ways that did not fit in with our lifestyle. Only then it wasn't a life style focused on God, it was just a lifestyle not focused on comercialism, and pop-culture. We have still managed to keep a lot of the pop-culture out of our lives. We still don't watch TV, we don't go crazy for the latest fad. We pick and choose our toys carefully, based on play value, not popularity. I have given in to some aspects of pop-culture, in moderation. What is holding me back?

Praise Report

I have got to tell everyone I know, that after years of praying for protection for my neighboorhood, that El Sobrante will soon have it's own police force. This is nothing short of a miracle to me. For generations El Sobrante, as an unincorporated "town" has fallen under the jurisdiction of the Contra Costa Counry Sheriffs. There is currently a proposal under review to change the zoning of El Sobrante to implement a Police Force. I don't know the details but I'm sure it will be an improvement. God is moving in dramatic and substantial ways.

What I know about God.

God is so awsome, powerful, omnipitent, and huge, that my simple, earthly, mind can barely comprehend the vastness of His existence. What I do know is that each one of us will face judgement before Christ. Until then we live under His Grace, and His Mercy.
